East Ivanhoe Case Study
The owners of this distinctively styled post World War Two home facing the Yarra River in Ivanhoe East love entertaining friends and family. Unfortunately they were confined to a barbeque on a small deck area on the east side of the house.
They approached Supa Group to come up with a more formal outdoor living space that was easy to maintain and pleasant to the eye. Incorporating a practical outdoor kitchen, the family’s vision to turn an essentially unused north facing rear yard into a wonderful outdoor entertainment area has been the scene of several large celebrations! They’ve even had friends borrow the space for their birthday parties!!
Supa Group designed a ground floor extension with direct access into the houses rear living room flowing out to the pool area. We had to put the thinking cap on to come up with this slightly irregularly shaped design due to the wedge shaped block and the existence of two large easements through the rear yard. The floor plan had to take into account sufficient clearance from these easements including consideration of the angle of repose to protect those public assets present on the property.
The north facing rear yard has received a full revamp with plenty of hard landscaping and new plant life giving a fresh feel to the space while allowing the northern light to come through into the extension.
