Yes, to significantly extend your property, you will need to obtain a building permit issued by the registered building surveyor. This is the last step in the process before building commences. In some cases, if you require flood overlays or strata tiles, council approval will also be needed. This is called planning permission.
In most cases, our clients can stay in their homes while we add extensions to the property. However, we cannot grant safe or easy access to the main areas of the house, such as the kitchen, bedroom or toilet, other temporary accommodation arrangements will need to be made. We will do our best to plan meticulously and cause the least inconvenience possible.
