Building permits are a key part of the building process to ensure your home extension complies with regulations. These are issued by a Registered Building Surveyor. In some instances. Special planning permission may be required from the Mornington Peninsula council prior to the building permit being issued. Supa Group handles all these requirements as part of our service.
Planning permits are required for some developments in the Mornington Peninsula. There may be a special overlay such as flood or heritage overlays on your property. Planning approval may also be required if your home is on a strata title or subdivided block of land.
These overlays exist so that the relevant council and neighbour's can have a say in what is being proposed, and to ensure it stays within council guidelines. Planning consent can take several months to issue, and usually details of the proposal need to be advertised publicly. It's important to understand what is likely to be passed so your design needs to keep this in mind.
If you are looking to build on the Mornington Peninsula, there will be various fees to obtain a building permit. Building permit fees can vary depending on the type of work being done on the property and the area in which it is located.
These costs are included in your fixed price contract and paid by Supa Group to the relevant authority or the Registered Building Surveyor.
