Yes, you must obtain a permit issued by the registered building surveyor for your extension project. This is the last step in the process before construction commences. In some cases, like if you’re adding floor overlays or strata tiles to your property, council approval is also needed. This is called planning permission.
Normally, our clients can stay in their homes while construction progresses. However, if we cannot grant you safe access to areas of the home, such as the kitchen, bathroom or bedroom, you will need to find temporary accommodation. We will do our best to plan meticulously and cause the least inconvenience.
Have you worked with a team of contractors in the past? If so, let us know. We’re happy to collaborate with various contractors across the state. We will ensure they meet our safety standards, provide the necessary insurance and OH&S credentials, and meet the deadlines outlined for your project.
Yes, you can add home extensions to your heritage-listed property. However, the process may require extensive planning and council permission. At Supa Group, we’ll work closely with the Boroondara city council to ensure all permissions are in place before the build.
