With its tranquil blue facade and inviting yellow door, this glorious Edwardian family home has been meticulously extended and renovated.
When the family first moved in, the renovated light-filled home with its period details and lofty ceilings was perfect.
A few years on, needs had changed. The children had grown, parents were sharing their work life between home and office and despite being very fond of their home, space was lacking.
With a good idea of what they wanted to achieve; clients reached out to Supa Group to discuss the best approach in achieving their ideal home. Already with an existing partial first floor that housed a rumpus and an attic storage room, the brief was to create a larger first floor dedicated entirely to the children.
Second Story extension with some modification & renovations to Ground Floor
The existing staircase now opened to a generous living area, a great communal space for the boys to hang out; watch movies, read, or practice their music. Each had their own spacious bedrooms with BIR, and one had access to the old storage room which was converted into a funky playroom.
Considerate in size, the main bathroom was designed for shared space. Featuring a wall to wall walk in shower, bathtub, and floating double vanity, it was fully equipped for the demands of growing boys. To complete, a powder room and Linen cupboard was added to the new first floor.
Parents were not overlooked. The main bathroom made way for a spacious Walk in Robe and a stylish ensuite with decorative ceramic floor tiles and pristine white fittings.
Gaining more space, the ground floor front bedroom with its original mahogany framed fireplace and its softly muted floral wallpaper was transformed into a sitting room with incredible warm ambience. Lastly, the second bedroom became the designated home office affording the parents the perfect work life balance.
When it came to street appeal, attention to detail was key. The final extension design paid homage to the period of the home but with a modern touch in the use of classic grey painted vertical Axon smooth cladding contrasting genially against the blue linear weatherboards.
