This workers cottage in the heart of Northcote High Street had stood still in time for several decades.
The owners had lived in the cottage for some time and now wanted the new ground floor extension and renovation to reflect an easy, comfortable and light filled ambiance to suit their lifestyle.

Making better use of limited space, the newly designed open plan kitchen, dining and living area opened out onto an undercover decked area featuring double glazed highlight windows and sliding doors encased by a modern raked roof. The energy efficiency of the house was also markedly improved with the exterior cladding being replaced and insulated.
Clever space saving ideas like ‘the bed in the cupboard’ allowed the room to be converted from a study to a guest bedroom by simply opening a cupboard door.
From the landscaped garden to the new Carport with its roller door and decorative feature screen it was all about chic functionality.
