Yes. You must obtain a building permit issued by the registered building surveyor to add significant home extensions to your property. However, if you are adding significant changes to your home, such as strata tiles or heritage overlays, all designs must be accepted by the local council first. This is called planning permission.
Usually, our clients can stay in their homes while we work on their extensions. However, if we cannot grant you safe access to major areas of the house, including the kitchen, main bedroom or toilet, you will need to find temporary accommodation. Our team will aim to cause the least amount of disruption to your daily routine as possible.
If you’ve used contractors in the past that you know and trust, let us know. We’re always willing to collaborate with professionals in Melbourne. To ensure they meet Supa Group standards, we’ll ask them for their safety, insurance, and OH&S credentials. We’ll also ensure they’re available to meet the deadlines we’ve set out for your project.
