Yes. If you are adding significant extensions to your property, you will need to obtain a permit issued by the registered building surveyor. This is the last step in the process before building commences. Additionally, if you add elements to your home, such as flood overlays or strata tiles, council approval is also needed. This is called planning permission.
Usually, clients can reside in their homes while we build the extensions. However, if we cannot grant you safe access to major areas of your home, such as the bathroom or kitchen, temporary accommodation may be required.
If you know some contractors that you trust, let us know. We’re always looking to collaborate with specialists across Melbourne. We’ll ensure they meet our safety standards, provide the relevant insurance and OH&S credentials, and are willing to meet all deadlines for the build.
Yes, you can add one or two-storey home extensions to a Chelsea heritage home. However, this process may take extensive planning to go ahead. Our team will liaise with the Kingston council to obtain the necessary permits needed to start construction.
