Yes. To add significant home extensions to your property, you will need to obtain a permit issued by the registered building surveyor. This is the final step in the process before the build can commence. In some instances planning permission may be required from council prior to the issuing of the building permit.
By agreement, clients often stay in their homes while we are extending, but only if we can grant safe access to important areas of the home, like the kitchen or bathroom. If this is not the case, you may need to find temporary accommodation elsewhere.
If you have worked with contractors in the past that you know and trust, let us know. We’re happy to collaborate with other building professionals across Keilor East, VIC and its surrounding suburbs. Before getting them started on your project, we’ll ensure they meet our safety standards, provide the necessary insurance and OH&S credentials, and are willing to meet all deadlines.
Yes, you may add home extensions to an East Keilor heritage-listed property. However, details of your project have to be submitted to the council with a planning permission granted prior to the building permit being issued. That’s why we work closely with the Moonee Valley council to ensure all permits are obtained before our new home extension builders get started.
