So, what can we do for you?
"Glen Eira Council – sandwiched between Bayside and Stonnington Councils is located to the South East of the CBD and Glen Eira contains the suburbs of St Kilda East, Caulfield, Caulfield South, Caulfield North. Towards the east of the LGA is Carnegie, Murrumbeena, Ormond, McKinnon and Bentleigh East. It also contains the suburb of Glen Iris (shared with Boroondara) from which it partly takes its name.
Running through Glen Eira are the appropriately named South Road, Centre Road and North Road. All large thoroughfares that carry large amounts of traffic from the bayside suburbs out to the outer suburbs with its factories and implicit employment opportunities.
These well established suburbs contain a good blend of older Victorian style housing but also lots of inter-war housing stock. It’s that little bit further away from the CBD from the likes of Stonnington Council and so it benefits from a greater mix of housing stocks suitable for young families."
"Directly after World War One an aerodrome was established on what is now known as Lords Reserve between Grange Road and Koornang Road. That aerodrome was home to the Sopwith Aeronautical Company managed by a Captain Larkin. Much to the disgust of the local churches and Sunday schools there was the opportunity to partake of joy flights and a popular pastime was watching the plane doing vertical dives or do loop the loops.
That aerodrome with associated hangar was relocated to Essendon and the area became public open space owned by the council.
Glen Eira gains its name from a grand mansion located on Kooyong Road owned by the Ricketson family, who were pastoral pioneers around Deniliquin. This mansion was to become a field hospital for injured soldiers on return from WW1.
The suburb of Caulfield is well known for its association with the Jewish community and indeed there are many well known architects from Europe such as Ernest Fookes who lived and built their fabulous mid century modern homes in that suburb and classic 1960’s apartment blocks along the main thoroughfares.
Supa Group have had 50 years experience building in Glen Eira and have completed hundreds of extensions over the years."
Obtaining council planning permits are arguably the most precarious stage of the renovation process. If you incorrectly complete the right paperwork, or correctly complete the wrong paperwork, everything falls apart. The headache often stops people from starting at all.
We’ve had the fortune to build in and around Glen Eira for decades. We know the Glen Eira Council’s planning and building permit application process like the back of our hand. So leave the paperwork to us, and we’ll ensure you get the permits you need to move forward without you lifting a finger.

Yes. Glen Eira City Council explicitly states that you need permits to change your home’s structure.
Your project manager can make permit applications on your behalf, ensuring that everything is in perfect order for the building to begin.
Potentially. For your home to remain livable, we must be able to guarantee access to your bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. That may not be possible for the entirety or a portion of the construction period.
If we must ask you to find temporary accommodation, we will complete the necessary work as quickly as possible to get you back home.
Of course! We’ll happily collaborate with contractors you already trust to work on your home.
We do have some reasonable requests for them, however. All contractors must provide adequate OH&S and insurance credentials. They must also be able to guarantee that they can work to our schedule so that we can meet the deadlines we’ve agreed upon with you.
Yes. However, obtaining permission from the Glen Eira Council is a little trickier.
Extensions and renovations to heritage buildings must respect the integrity and history of the original structure, and also comply with heritage planning regulations. That may dampen your plans. However, we’ve found that seamless, tasteful adjustments and extensions often add to the value of heritage homes without reducing their period charm.
