This Victorian Terrace has been wonderfully restored to its former glory but with so much more.
Originally bought as an investment property, this young family’s long-term goal was to make this single fronted terrace house their family home, but it was in dire need of extra space and renovation.
Preserving and restoring the terrace’s original heritage features, beautiful arched hallway and intricate details was part of the brief but importantly the new floorplan and extension also needed to afford the young family the comfort of modern amenities in keeping with their lifestyle.
Works began with a partial demolition of an old extension at the rear. A new spacious ground floor extension was created with a light filled open plan kitchen, dining and living area with outdoor decking that stepped down to an enclosed paved courtyard. The new extension also included a cleverly designed walk-in pantry and concealed laundry with outdoor access.
Due to the orientation of the new extension, double-glazed high-performance Velux skylights to meals and lounge area were installed providing an abundance of natural light and ventilation.
The existing front lounge was converted into another bedroom and striking black and white main bathroom, and a new master suite with WIR and monochrome ensuite replaced the old kitchen area.
With a beautifully refurbished façade in a soft palette of grey and white, this Victorian Terrace has gracefully entered the 21st Century.
